April 9, 2019Francesca RiveraTraining

A woman opened fire at a person who tried to rob her Saturday evening in the South Side Hyde Park neighborhood.

A male attempted to rob the woman about 6:20 p.m. in the 1400 block of East 56th Street, but she fired shots at him, Chicago police said.

The woman had a concealed-carry license and was not hurt, police said. It wasn’t known if the male was struck before he drove away in a dark-colored SUV.

No one was in custody Saturday evening.
